Trump’s tweet spot on
Trump’s tweet spot on
Simple question: Do the people at WHT read the articles they print from other news media? Are you so against Trump you will print anything that makes him look bad? The latest (printed on Oct. 17) from the San Diego Union-Tribune joined those who choose to trash Trump for making a perfectly reasonable and logical Tweet!
“Electric and all infrastructure (in Puerto Rico) was disaster before hurricanes,” he tweeted. “We cannot keep FEMA, the Military &the First Responders, who have been amazing (under the most difficult circumstances) in P.R. forever!”
His statement, while annoying to those that are clueless regarding the tasks put before FEMA, our military and first responders, was spot-on! Our reactionary people (those listed) are there for one reason — to get the areas they are in moving toward recovery. That is their job. Once the recovery is underway, these people need to go back to their home bases/areas and regroup, getting ready for the next emergency that arises.

to pay taxes
According to West Hawaii Today, vacation rentals are doing a booming business in Kona.
What they did not say was that many of these “vacation rentals” are not contributing to the state TAT and GET. I have heard many say that they offer lower rates because they do not pay their taxes.
The state does nothing to these people; instead they raise the TAT and put the burden on the renters who do pay their taxes.

Diversity in the plastic person workplace, please
I have been to the local Target store a couple of times in the last two months. As I walk in and turn left or right, there is a very noticeable change in the apparels department. Just wondering if Target management are showing their true color! All — and I mean all — the mannequins are white. Why is this?
